Breffni Air are are seeking an Experienced Health and Safety Officer to work from our site in Kildare.   We are a well-established specialist ventilation Contractor that operates across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.

The Role:

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the successful candidate will support line management across all parts of this live landmark semi-conductor project, in the elimination of accidents at work through the development and implementation of safety management systems, and the embedding of a culture of health and safety awareness within our company.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working as a Health and safety Officer to ensure full compliance on site
  • Identify, access and control Health and Safety risks
  • Develop safety documents in conjunction with the Site Supervisors/ Site Agents/Project Managers
  • Assist in conducting regular formal site audits and carry out inspections as directed in the Safety Management system
  • Communicate the findings of the audits to site management and assist in the closure of any issues
  • Ensure the delivery of Health and Safety inductions for all new employees or contractors working on site
  • Advise/Assist the Site/Project Management team in drafting and communicating method statements for high risk activities
  • Develop and manage procedures associated with the execution of RAM’s.
  • Support the site management in ensuring the records of statutory inspections are kept for all activities and plant equipment
  • Assist in incident/accident investigation reporting and filing
  • Compile and communicate site emergency plans in conjunction with the site management team
  • Give advice to site management on training requirements for each project
  • Inform and assist site management on the preparation of the safety file for handover to the client at the end of the project
  • Advise on personal protection equipment required and manage the Tool Box Schedule for the project including attendance records
  • Furnish safety reports to head office as required and Serve as company representative at site meetings when requested
  • Comply with other reasonable request from senior management on matters of safety not to the detriment of the core duties

The role requires;

• Relevant Safety Qualification, IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent with minimum to NVQ 6 in Occupational H&S.
• 5 years’ experience in a construction safety role. Knowledge of Mechanical preferable
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
• Capable of working on their own Initiative
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures
• Excellent Communication skills

Breffni Air are a market-leading Mechanical contractor involved in projects across many sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Commercial, Data Centres and Technology.

We require an Experienced Quantity Surveyor for a site based role for the successful delivery of a landmark semi-conductor project in the greater Dublin area. This role will work within an existing team to manage and implement all project commercial and contractual requirements.

This will include;

Managing ongoing project commercial activities including payment claims, variations for additional works, coordinating monthly valuations, contractual requirements, recording and presenting all costs for assessment and ongoing client reporting
Implementing commercial management systems for cost and performance forecasting
Managing all schedules and trackers to coordinate and manage ongoing progress and change
Managing and coordinating procurement of materials and plant items for the works
Managing key stakeholder relationships across the broader project team
Undertaking project reporting within the company including monthly forecasting of costs and cost value reconciliation, reviewing Planned versus Earned Value, ongoing performance of each works package (and programming) and forecasting project cashflow on a monthly basis
Recording, reporting, and managing projects risks, variations and cost overruns and the overall effect overruns may have on the project
Undertaking and managing interim commercial meetings with the Client and Internal Project Team
Completing the project close out documentations including final account resolution and agreement for all trade packages.

The role requires;

7 – 10 years relevant experience, preferably in a mechanical engineering/ high end ventilation systems and services environment

Relevant Level 8/ Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying

Working knowledge of the 3D environment including Navisworks/AutoCAD
