Qualified Accountant

Breffni Air are a market-leading specialist contractor in mechanical and electrical installations, involved in projects across many sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Commercial, Food Processing, Data Centres and Technology.

Due to continued growth, Breffni Air has an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Accountant reporting to the CFO based in Co. Cavan. The role will suit an ambitious driven individual looking to develop and progress their career while obtaining wide ranging experience across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the CFO and wider Finance team with day to day and month end process including preparation of Management Accounts across all group companies on QuickBooks accounts system.
  • Ensure data entered and postings made are on-time and with attention to accuracy across all key areas such as revenue, costs, FX, prepayments, and accruals.
  • Assist with the analysis of monthly P&L activity including splitting of costs across companies.
  • Assist with completing intercompany month end procedures.
  • Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts including prepayments, accruals and control accounts.
  • Assist with external and internal audit engagements.
  • Participate in various process improvements initiatives and other ad-hoc duties as defined by the business.

Role Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy.
  • A proven track record in a similar role within a busy environment.
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks/projects undertaken or assigned.
  • Have a clear understanding of VAT Rates and what rates apply to each activity and product.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail mandatory.
  • Experience working within a team environment.
  • Proficient Microsoft office suite.
  • Disciplined and organised to work independently to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent prioritisation and multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience in construction accounting would be advantageous.
